Winona Middle School Drama Club will perform "The Nifty Fifties"
The Winona Middle School Drama Club sponsored by Community Education will perform "The Nifty Fifties" on Friday, March 24th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, March 25th at 3:00 pm in the Winona Middle School auditorium. The Drama Club has grown to 68 students this year in grades 6, 7, and 8. It includes students from WMS, Bluffview, and Riverway. Twelve students work behind the scenes on sets, lights, and sound while 56 are on stage performing. The play is set in the 1950's and will treat you to thirteen musical numbers that will keep your toes tapping and send you out humming some lively tunes. Gracie Stanley has promised to have her rock star cousin Ziggy at the Hippity Hop. Her rival, Muffin Mansfield, doesn't believe her. To make matters worse, they are both interested in George Bullock, the new transfer student. Meanwhile, Gracie's brother Bob is hiding from Sinbad (the thug) and his beatnik friends after busting up Sinbad's motorcycle. On top of all this, the dance is slated to be held at Louise's Luncheonette which is in danger of being turned into a Dry Cleaners. All of these issues will be resolved in just two hours. Come see "The Nifty Fifties" this Friday and Saturday to see how everything turns out! Performed by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Series, Inc., Englewood, CO.
